About Us
The Other Bar is a network of recovering lawyers and judges throughout the state, dedicated to assisting others within the profession who are suffering from alcohol and substance abuse problems. We are a private, non-profit corporation funded by the State Bar and private donations. Our organization is founded on the principle of anonymity and provides services in strict confidentiality. The program is voluntary and open to all California lawyers, judges and law students. Our consultants and volunteers stand ready to assist their colleagues in all areas of recovery.

Contributions
The Other Bar is a non-profit organization qualified under 501(c)(3) and accepts tax deductible contributions. (Taxpayer ID = 68-0094431).

Gifts to the General Operation of The Other Bar should say "General" in the memo line, and gifts to the Shot of Sobriety, our revolving loan program for the costs of detox and early treatment for selected lawyers in the earliest stages of recovery, should say "Shot of Sobriety" in the memo line.
